Instructions
Step 1: Brew the Espresso
- Use an espresso machine, Moka pot, or AeroPress to pull a strong espresso shot.
- Pour the espresso into a warm cup.
Step 2: Steam & Froth the Half-and-Half
- If using an espresso machine, steam the half-and-half until it reaches 150-160°F (65-70°C).
- If using a milk frother, heat the half-and-half first, then froth it until creamy and velvety.
- If using a stovetop & French press, warm the half-and-half and pump it in the French press until frothy.
Step 3: Combine & Serve
- Slowly pour the steamed half-and-half over the espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon.
- Top with the frothy layer and smooth it out.
- Add sweetener or a sprinkle of cinnamon or cocoa powder if desired.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use whole milk instead of half-and-half.
- Want it iced? Simply pour espresso over ice and top with cold, frothed half-and-half.
